The Brown Hooded Owlet caterpillar feeds on the flowers and foliage
of some species of aster and goldenrod.
Cucullia convexipennis belongs to the Noctuidae family.
Moths are on the wing from early July to late August in Ontario.

The range extends from temperate eastern U. S. and southern Canada,
west to Saskatchewan in the north. It has been observed at least as
far south as Georgia in the east.
