Saturniidae (Papered Specimens) from Cameroon

I have recently received a shipment of moths from various areas of Cameroon, Africa. The shipment was well packed and moths appear to be in A- to A condition. The white specks on some specimens are the "moth crystals" used to prevent dermestid attacks. There was no sign of any dermestid presence when I opened the package. The crystals can easily be brushed off when you spread these specimens.

I have done tentivie ids by seeing only the ventral surfaces as displayed below. I will do more complete ids if you purchase and spread the specimens and send the digital images of the spread moths to me with wingspans.

My agreement with the source is that I would pay $2.50 (after receipt of shipment) for each Saturniidae item that I received in A- or better condition. I would also pay the postage of $15.00, and I would pay the charge to make a Western Union payment ($17.00 plus trip to Charlottetwon). I have received specimens and have scanned and posted them here and have done tentative ids. I am offering them first to WLSS members at approximately $0.50/item over my expenses above plus postage in entire package purchase without the non-Saturniidae species: (32 Saturniidae specimens, with at least 22 different Saturniidae species represented; total price $130.00 US, plus shipping and handling which depends upon your location). See summary bottom of page 4.

Email: Bill Oehlke.

If there is sufficient interest, I will bring in more specimens, but I will not be offering them at such low prices. If you do not want entire package, just individual specimens or smaller numbers of specimens, there will be slight increase in prices per item.

There are four pages of specimens, each page from a different area of Cameroon. Subsequent pages are linked from this page and the following pages.
