"Participation for the different pairings includes the following people: Y. Barberoux, P. Guivarch , O. Kurz, E. Legrand, J-P. Pagnon, J. Sabatier, J-C. Tavernier.

Different Actias rearings and others were performed by: R. Beck, M. Blanchet, H. Evin, G. Flutsch, F. Goussard, H. Guyot, M. Lamour, F. Renner, J. Ullastre and R. Zaun.

"The hybrid crossing has been successfuly made in May 2007 with a wild male Graellsia isabellae and a reared hybrid female of Actias (gnoma x selene). The Actias (gnoma x selene) was obtained for the first time in year 2005 by Reinhold Höge.

The greatest quantity of cocoons used for this hybrid was given by Reinhold and Robert Zaun (generation 5th for this Actias gnoma/selene hybrid).

For a short anecdote we are for the time being at the generation ninth and Robert and I have named it familiarly « Actias högelii » !!!!!!!!!

Obtention of male and female chrysalis, and observation of two imago type genus.

Graellsia/gnoma hybrid type giving black colored tails , picture 1-2

We can also notice a difference between the colours of the caterpillars mainly at L2 instar where we can observe a dark brown caterpillar and the other caterpillar really red.

Some cocoons are in diapause and we trust a good continuation for 2008 Spring.
