(Herrich-Schaeffer, [1854]) Adelocephala

Citioica anthonilis ?? (more likely C. guayensis) male,
Gurupi Biological Reserve, Maranhao, Brazil,
courtesy of Thibaud Decaens, tentative revision to guayensis by Bill Oehlke.

TAXONOMY:

Superfamily: Bombycoidea, Latreille, 1802
Family: Saturniidae, Boisduval, [1837] 1834
Subfamily: Ceratocampinae, Harris, 1841
was Citioicinae: Travassos & Noronha, 1967
Genus: Citioica Travossos & Noronha, 1965

I believe specimens from low elevation in the Guiano-Amazon region are more likely the recently (2011) described Citioica guayensis.
