DISTRIBUTION:

Adhemarius dariensis (wingspan: males: 107-111 mm; females: 124mm) flies in
Costa Rica, the specimen type locality;
Mexico: (Oaxaca: Portillo Lachao Viejo; July 20, 2004, 2200m (HM));
Guatemala: Izabal (JM);
Nicaragua;
and possibly ?? in Panama.

Jean Haxaire indicates Adhemarius dariensis often has the scalloped outer margin so evident in the very fresh specimen image supplied by Nicoline.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Adhemarius dariensis probably broods continuously.

Adhemarius dariensis larvae probably feed upon Ocotea veraguensis, Ocotea atirrensis and Ocotea dendrodaphne.
