DISTRIBUTION:

Callionima calliomenae (Wing span: approx. 67mm), flies in northwestern
Venezuela: Falcon: Aroa; Merida; Aragua; Guarico; Lara; Miranda; Portuguesa;
Haiti;
the Dominican Republic; and
Cuba.

Possibly it also flies in eastern Colombia??

The forewing outer margin is regularly dentate and only slightly hollowed out below the apex. The hindwing basal area is dark yellow.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Callionima calliomenae adults probably fly as multiple broods.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose from pupae formed in flimsy cocoons among leaf litter.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Both males and females nectar at flowers.
