DISTRIBUTION:

Eumorpha orientalis (wingspan: males: ; females: 114mm (VK)) flies in
Brazil: Sao Bento do Sul.

This moth was previously treated as a subspecies of obliquus, but as of 2011 has full species status, and it replaces nominate obliquus in southeastern Brazil.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Eumorpha orientalis adults are on the wing from
Eumorpha obliqua orientalis larvae feed upon ??.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Pupae wiggle to surface just prior to eclosion. Females call at night, and males fly into the wind to pick up and track the pheromone plume.
