DISTRIBUTION:

Erinnyis obscura socorroensis (Wing span: ), flies on the Revillagigedo Islands, the specimen type locality, and it can be found in Mexico.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Erinnyis obscura socorroensis probably broods continuously in the tropics.

Adults nectar at flowers.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose from pupae formed in loose cocoons spun among surface litter.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.

EGGS, LARVAE, PUPAE:

Larvae probably feed on papaya (Carica papaya), nettlespurge (Jatropha), and allamanda (Allamanda).
