DISTRIBUTION:

Eumorpha translineatus (wingspan: males: 117mm; females: ) flies in
Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Parana, Sao Paulo (HM), 50m, and
Bolivia: Santa Cruz: Ichilo, Buena Vista (450m); and
possibly Argentina and; Brazil: Santa Catarina.

FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:

Eumorpha translineatus adults are on the wing in November (HM), and probably in additional months. Eumorpha translineata larvae probably feed upon Vitaceae.

ECLOSION, SCENTING AND MATING:

Pupae wiggle to surface just prior to eclosion. Females call at night, and males fly into the wind to pick up and track the pheromone plume.
