DISTRIBUTION:

Neogene carrerasi flies in
Argentina (specimen type locality): La Rioja; Catamarca; San Juan.

Head whitish; thorax light brownish grey with dark streaks on inner edge of tegulae; abdomen dark grey to black.

Ground colour is dirty white with muted, slightly darker grey markings, strongest in costal and inner margin areas.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Neogene carrerasi adults fly in the months of ??, probably January-February, possibly also November-December.

ECLOSION:

Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterranean chambers just prior to eclosion.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Adults take nectar from flowers.

EGGS, LARVAE, PUPAE:

Larva have been reported on .
