DISTRIBUTION:

Nyceryx continua continua flies in
Brazil the specimen type locality: Sao Paulo: Alto da Serra; Rio Grande do Sul;
Peru: (possibly subspecies cratera in Peru);
Bolivia (possibly subspecies cratera in La Paz, Bolivia);
Argentina: Misiones (EB), Jujuy, Salta;
Paraguay: Guaira.

Pronotum (dorsal, first thoracic segment) without a darker transverse line; anterior upper part of tegula without spot and inner edge almost pure white. Forewing upperside with the lines in basal costal area absent or vestigial; antemedian band filled with black, very oblique; discal spot rather large, dot in front of it distinct; apical black half-moon not distinctly separate from the black marginal area. Hindwing upperside with yellow basal area extending to inner margin. CATE

FLIGHT TIMES:

Moths are probably on the wing in just about every month. Ezequiel Bustos confirms a September flight in Misiones Province, Argentina.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose, usually within three weeks.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.
