DISTRIBUTION:
The Adhemarius dariensis moth
(wingspan: males: 107-111 mm; females: 124mm) flies in
Costa Rica, the specimen type locality:
Puntarenas, San Jose, Heredia, Carthage, Alajuela, Lemon;
and in
Mexico;
Guatemala;
Nicaragua: Madriz, Nueva Segovia,
Jinotega, Matagalpa;
and
Panama.

Jean Haxaire indicates Adhemarius dariensis often has
the scalloped outer margin so evident in the very fresh specimen image
supplied by Nicoline.
FLIGHT TIMES AND PREFERRED FOOD PLANTS:
Adhemarius dariensis probably broods continuously.
Adhemarius dariensis larvae probably feed upon
Ocotea veraguensis, Ocotea atirrensis
and Ocotea dendrodaphne.
