DISTRIBUTION:

Baniwa yavitensis flies in Venezuela, the specimen type locality, and in Amazonas and Para in Brazil.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Baniwa yavitensis adults probably fly in multiple broods. Specimens have been taken in July in Brazil

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.
