The upperside of the forewing is brown with dark brown and white markings with a light round spot near the end of the cell. The upperside of the hindwing has a dark spot at the lower outer margin.

This Arizona State record (above) for 2004 was listed in the Lep Society Season Summary. It was captured in Santa Cruz County, Arizona on the evening of August 7, 2004. Coincidentally it was the first capture of that evening. It came to a combination of Mercury Vapor and Blacklight Fluorescent lights on a hill top in an area with a tremendous amount of Hopbush (Dodonaea viscosa) and Ocotillo.
