Most of the offspring seem to resemble the Actias truncatipennis female parent, having long tails and thick "attachment" from costa to eyespot.

About twenty-five percent of the offspring show an aberration that sometimes occurs in reared A. truncatipennis. See images of aberrant male and female below from luna male x truncatipennis female.
