DISTRIBUTION:

Manduca undata (wingspan: approximately 100mm) flies in
Argentina: Cordoba, La Rioja, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Tucuman; and
Paraguay: western Boqueron.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Manduca undata adults fly in December (Cochuna, Tucuman, Argentina) and March (Pinto, Santiago del Estero, Argentina) as reported by Fernando Penco.

ECLOSION:

Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterranean chambers just prior to eclosion.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Adults probably take nectar from flowers.
